Welcome friends, to "Travails of the West", a probe into the challenges facing Western Civilization. I hold our way of life to be the highest achievement in communal living, and thus well worth preserving. For if we go down, the dignity of man goes down with us. There is more at stake here than the mere ebb and flow of national power; we are talking about the retreat of the only Polity in human history to give "Individual man" his due, to treat him as more than a cog in society's wheel - used and abused at a ruler's leisure,  to treat him as an entity, valuable and worthy in his own right. And if we fail, the lot of mankind will be sharply diminished.


Four main trends imperil Western security and Wellbeing, and will be explored in depth:(1)the rise of asia, (2)Islamism, (3)demographic decline, and most importantly,(4) the internal war for the soul of the West.
